Jeremy's Experiment -- to walk around the school with my pedometer

I started at a particular spot, at the front doors.
I walked at the same pace to go clockwise around the school.
It said 960 steps.

My prediction was 40 steps more than I walked.
I felt glad because it was a lot of steps and my estimate was close.

It was fun walking around the school and looking at my pedometer.

My Pedometer

Today I plan to walk around the school to measure how far it is around the school. I predict that it will be 1000 steps to go around our school. I think that because inside the school I walk 500 steps, so it will be bigger than 500 steps outside.

Pedometers from Canadian Space Agency - Great Fun

Today we received a pedometer. Everyone in the class got one.
We put our names on each pedometer and tested them out.
Some people went to the office and back (77 steps).
Others went to Mr. Lloyd's room and back (75 steps).
Another student went to the Library and back (84 steps).

We will do more experiments later today.
It was great fun!

Tomato Sphere

The grade 2/3 class is doing something called tomato sphere. It is really fun planting tomatoes. We got the tomato seeds in a letter from the Canadian Space Agency. It is a project to see if tomatoes grow in space and maybe on the planet Mars. I hope the tomatoes will survive on mars.
