Jeremy's Experiment -- to walk around the school with my pedometer

I started at a particular spot, at the front doors.
I walked at the same pace to go clockwise around the school.
It said 960 steps.

My prediction was 40 steps more than I walked.
I felt glad because it was a lot of steps and my estimate was close.

It was fun walking around the school and looking at my pedometer.

My Pedometer

Today I plan to walk around the school to measure how far it is around the school. I predict that it will be 1000 steps to go around our school. I think that because inside the school I walk 500 steps, so it will be bigger than 500 steps outside.

Pedometers from Canadian Space Agency - Great Fun

Today we received a pedometer. Everyone in the class got one.
We put our names on each pedometer and tested them out.
Some people went to the office and back (77 steps).
Others went to Mr. Lloyd's room and back (75 steps).
Another student went to the Library and back (84 steps).

We will do more experiments later today.
It was great fun!

TOO MUCH NOISE IN THE COMPUTER LAB

In the computer lab the keyboard goes click clack click clack. When you turn one the computer it goes snap. When you press the buttons on the mouse the buttons go click, click, click. When Makenzie pulls the chair out she says to much noise! So she goes to the wise librarian and says there is to much noise in the computer lab. So the wise librarian said go get a noisy group of people. Makenzie went and got a noisy group of people. But the computer lab was still to noisy. She went back to the wise librarian and said the computer lab is still to noisy. So the wise librarian said get some music for the people to dance to. But it was still to noisy. Makenzie went back and the wise librarian said get ride of the music and get ride of the noisy group of people. So Makenzie did that. But when she tiped the keyboard still went click clack click clack. When she pressed the mouse it still went click, click, click and when she turns on the computer it still goes snap!

Tomatosphere

Our class planted tomato on Monday June 1. We have been watching them grow from the 1 of June to 15 of June. There are 4 green cups that are not germinated yet. Also there are 5 blue cups that have not germinated yet also. Plus 83 that have germinated it has leaves and grew over the top of the foam cup. There are 46 blue and there are 46 green. There is 92 in total that have been germinated and some that have not. Ty our tomato project boy has been watering and counting the ones that are germinated and the ones that are not.

Tomato Sphere

The grade 2/3 class is doing something called tomato sphere. It is really fun planting tomatoes. We got the tomato seeds in a letter from the Canadian Space Agency. It is a project to see if tomatoes grow in space and maybe on the planet Mars. I hope the tomatoes will survive on mars.

Perth Road School yard from our lens

This is looking West from our school. These maple trees were planted by the Garden Club at Perth Road Public School. Right now they do not give us that much shade. In the future they will give us shade.














The rock that these students are sitting on is at the East side of our school. The rocks are part of the Canadian Sheild.

Get fit for space

The grade 2/3 class got into the get fit for space program. Also, we have done walking and skipping to get more and more closer to the 340 km. We are so excited every day because the space station is getting closer. And on Wednesday we finished it.

Mr. Martian Gets Lost

Mr. Martian was a small but old Martian. He had only three eyes. He also had six legs and he had a unibrow. One day, he saw a meteor coming close to his planet. He put on his jet pack and flew to stop the meteor. He stopped it. Then his jet pack ran out and he fell to Earth. When he crash landed, he saw a sign that said that Robert Thirsk had arrived safely at the ISS. The next lift off, Julie Payette would be travelling to the ISS.

Next, Mr. Martian walked over two transports and three taxis. He walked inside a restaurant, that he thought said “Disco Party”, and since he likes dancing, he went inside and started to dance. He saw a shiny plate gleaming in the light. He walked outside and saw a big sign that said “Lift Off in 5 seconds”. So, he ran and jumped on the space capsule in order to catch a ride home.
